Christmas Eve and Christmas

I love Christmas Eve. It reminds me of when I was a little girl and everyone would get together at my grandparents house. There would be yummy food, loud laughs, a little drama and of course gifts.
This year brought those memories back. My Aunt Lucie and Joe came by with the girls, Ericka and Pat were also there too, my Uncle Mario made an appearance, my aunt Minnie and one of her friends also stopped by. We ate yummy food, laughed a ton and had a little drama. During the evening Mason was no where to be found. Everyone was calling out for him and looking for him, it turned out that he fell asleep on the couch and covered himself up with my aunt Lucie's coat. My aunt was getting ready to go outside and look for him when she went to get her coat and found him fast asleep. It gave us a good scare but everything turned out okay. After dinner it was time to open up the gifts. Mila had a blast tearing up the paper. The evening couldn't have been any better.
The next day Mike, Mila and I had our own little Christmas. We exchanged gift and spent some great quality time. After hanging out at home for awhile we made it over to Marilyn's house where we enjoyed Marilyn, Jeff, Kimberly and Daileigh's company. Everyone loved their gifts which is always fun. Christmas lunch was delicious!! You can never go wrong with Lucille's BBQ. This was probably one of the best Christmas Eve and Christmas I have had in a long time.

Feeling better

I'm so glad that my little Monkey is finally feeling better. Having a sick baby is probably one of the worst feelings. Not knowing what is wrong with your baby is even worse. After a few days of a high fever, the fever finally broke and then came a crazy rash. Mila had her first little virus called Roseola and I'm sure there will be many more. Here are some pictures of the nasty little rash she got and still has.

4 Month Visit

Mila is doing great. Dr. Mike said that her teeth are coming in and should be here within the next month....I'm kinda excited but not excited for her to bite me. She got two shots and cried bloody murder. I felt so bad but I got to do what is best for her. So here are her stats:

Height: 25 inches 65%

Weight: 17 pounds 7 oz >95%

Head: 16 3/8 52%

I asked about her weight and the Dr. said she is perfect. :)

Greek Festival

Tonight Mila and I went to the Greek Festival in Irvine with my Sister and her kids and our aunt Minerva. It was so nice to get out of the house and people watch, enjoy the outside air, music and some of the yummy food (but not too much food).

Calling all Moms

I have decided that we all need to get together and write a book on baby etiquette. People are so ridiculous when it comes to babies!! They are either retarded or they really don't have a clue on what is appropriate when it comes to talking, holding or being around our little bundles of joy.

For example; Why do People think it's okay to come up to your baby and touch them?? Would it be okay for me to come up to you and start touching your face and body? No, so don't do it to my baby.

Here are a few issues I seem to keep running into especially #1, 2, 3, 8, 9 and 10
  1. If I don't know you please don't touch my baby.
  2. If I do know you please ask if you can touch my baby. Don't just assume that it's cool, cause it might not be.
  3. If I don't know you please don't ask to hold my baby.
  4. If I agree for you to hold my baby don't try taking off with her so you can show some random person MY baby.
  5. If you are holding my baby PLEASE don't wrap them up in some random blanket...gross!
  6. If you are holding my baby don't throw her in the air. I don't do that with her so please Don't do it, thanks.
  7. Please don't call my baby a chunker especially if I don't know you that well.
  8. If you are holding my baby please don't let your kids hold her, she's not a toy.
  9. Please don't let your kids touch my babies binkie or toys cause I just saw them picking there nose.
  10. Please don't serve hot food over my babies head I would prefer her not to be scalded.

I just don't get it, why do people think it's okay to do these things? I really think that the "Public" needs our help and that is why we need to write this book. Please tell me what kind of weird things happen to you so I don't feel so alone or how you deal with these people.

Thanks!

Mila Meeting Abuelito Lalo

Yesterday Mila got to meet her grandpa for the first time and he absolutely adored her. It was such a bitter sweet moment because I don't know when we will see him again because he is moving back to Mexico. In Michoacan, where my dad is from, things have changed a whole bunch and I don't think we will be visiting anytime soon. So for now these will be the only pictures I have of the two of them until we meet again.

Fun Pictures of my Mila Monkey!

Sitting around in the Bumbo

Church Party

At the pool

Hanging out

No more Napper

Mila has officially moved out of her napper portion of her pack n play and is now sleeping in the main compartment. Why did I get kind of sad when i was taking it apart...I don't know. Is it because my little girl is getting so much bigger? I think so. I know she is still small but when we first brought her home she had so much room in the napper and now she hardly fits and rips off the canopy. Last night was the first night she slept in the big girl portion and she woke up a few more times than normal but she did okay. She is such a wiggle worm that when I would check up on her she would be laying in a completely different directions. I love my silly little Mila Monkey!!

Feeling a little lonely

It's 2:15 am and I can't sleep. Mike is away in Catalina until Sunday and I feel like I'm not going to get any rest while he is gone. The one positive thing I can attribute to being alone is that I become some sort of cleaning freak. I guess cleaning keeps me occupied while I'm up at the wee hours of the night. I have already done 3 loads of laundry and put it away, packed Mila's diaper bag, picked up our bedroom, read every post on facebook, caught up on reading everyone blog I follow and even posted a tweet on tweeter (which I rarely even log into). I might be in need of a BIG nap tomorrow. I hope I can survive this weekend. Hurry home Mikey Boo!!!

Vaccinations

Today Mila had her first round of vaccination. I was really worried that she would have a negative reaction to the DPT vaccine because the same shot caused Mike to go into anaphylactic shock when he was her age. So, to be on the safe side I dragged Mike's mom with me to our appointment so she could explain our concerns with the Dr. The Dr. explained to us that there was a 10% chance that Mila would experience the same problem that Mike had when he was a baby. He felt confident in giving her the full dose, so Mila got her DPT shot and there were no negative reactions....few! She did develop a fever, but with the help of Tylenol her fever broke and she's back to her normal self. The Dr. wanted to give Mila 3 other injections but Marylin and I decided that it would be best to split them up so that there weren't so many foreign things going into her body all at once. I am so glad everything turned out the way they did.

So now lets talk about my little Chub-a-roo's growth...

Height: 22 1/2 inches % 50
Weight: 13 pounds 8 oz % 95
Head: 15 1/2 inches % 50

Basically, my girl loves to eat. Haha!!

M.A.C.

I just picked up my M.A.C. Look in a Box: Sweet Tease set and I L-O-V-E it!! The blush is my absolute favorite, it has the perfect hint of pink and gold. Now I just need to find an excuse to put make up on and get dolled up. I love being a girl.

Dinner at Miguel's

Tonight the Campbell's went out to dinner with the McGrath's. It was nice to catch up with some of our good friends. Mila had a good time with Uncle Rio and Michelle. We really need to hang out with them more. They are so much fun. Thanks for a fun evening.
